Sports Mash Up

Facilitators: Jessica Schlegel, Taina Uitto and guests
Date: Mondays, September 12 – December 5
All ages. One of our most popular programs, this program features free time in the gym along with free time in the craft room with all the Maker’s Space crafting materials. Please note: this program runs a bit longer than our other programs to allow for kids to become more immersed in their projects and world-building. Kids have access to all our gym equipment including: a giant parachute, gymnastic mats, scooters and sports equipment.
Facilitator: Taina Uitto, Jessica Schlegel and Sadie Gibbs
Date: Tuesdays, September 13 – December 6
All ages. Together we will take care of the school garden and harvest food for the school’s lunch program. As it gets cooler, we will move indoors for crafts and cooking, and when the weather allows we will spend time on the beach and in the forest.
Facilitator: Sadie Gibbs and guests
Date: Wednesdays, September 13 – December 7
Role Playing Games
Grades 5-7. Dungeons and Dragons, and the many other role playing games it has inspired, is a group
story-telling activity where players come together to create fantastical characters and stories. Combining
improv, imagination, and team-building with simple arithmetic, role-playing games help develop
problem-solving and interpersonal skills in a safe, structured, and fun environment. Please note that this after-school program is two hours long.
Facilitator: Sam Boorthwick and Sadie Gibs
Date: Thursdays, April15-December 8
All our after-school programs take place at Denman Island Community School.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the name and age of your kid(s) and which programs they would like to attend by September 8th.
We will be confirming enrollment by Friday September 9th.

This is a parent/caretaker participation activity – all children must be accompanied by an adult. To be on our email list please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
